ZIMBABWE 150TPH ALLUVIAL CHROME SEPARATION SYSTEM

Fangcheng Mining Machinery Company provided a full 150TPH alluvial chrome ore separation system for a chrome project in Zimbabwe.
Designed for high-capacity, cost-effective processing, this gravity-based plant uses a multi-stage spiral chute system to maximize chrome concentrate recovery from fine alluvial materials.
The solution is ideal for raw ore without sticky clay and with high fine content.

SOLUTIONS & PROCESS
Fangcheng designed and delivered a complete system consisting of a vibrating feeder, trommel screen, slurry pumps, and two-stage spiral chute groups, optimized for high recovery and operational efficiency.

1.Feeding&Screening

Raw ore is delivered by truck or excavator into a material hopper. A vibrating feeder with 75mm grizzly bars feeds the ore into a trommel screen. Rocks >75mm are discarded via belt conveyor.

2.Classification

The trommel screen separates the 0–2mm fine ore from the 2–75mm fraction. The coarse 2–75mm ore is also removed as waste. The 0–2mm fraction, rich in chrome, flows into the slurry tank.

3.Gravity Separation

A slurry pump sends the 0–2mm pulp to the first-stage spiral chute group. This step produces chrome concentrate, middling, and tailings. Tailings are directed to a tailing pond.
Middlings are pumped into a second-stage spiral chute group to further extract residual chrome. This two-stage process significantly improves the recovery rate.

4.Concentrate Collection

All chrome concentrate from both spiral stages is collected in a concentrate pool for further dewatering or refining.
