The trommel scrubber, commonly referred to as a rotary screen ore washer or cylinder screen washer, is a versatile piece of hydraulic equipment designed for cleaning soil and sticky mud. This innovative machine performs dual functions: it effectively cleans raw materials while also screening them by particle size. The trommel scrubber not only provides preliminary cleaning of materials but also efficiently sieves them, enhancing the overall processing of gold recovery operations.

Working Principle

The trommel scrubber achieves efficient ore washing through the synergistic effect of mechanical scrubbing in a rotating drum and high-pressure counterflow water washing. Ore and slurry (adjusted to 20-25% density) enter the rotating drum where continuous tumbling and friction effectively separate clay from ore lumps. At the discharge end, high-pressure water (0.3-0.5MPa) is introduced for reverse flushing to enhance clay removal, with clay-laden wastewater exiting through perforated baffles. The cleaned ore is then precisely classified into coarse, medium and fine fractions by the rotating conical screen while undergoing dewatering with spray water. This process can significantly upgrade ore grade by 3-8%, making it particularly suitable for processing high-clay content ores including alluvial gold, oxidized ores, hematite, limonite, manganese ore, iron ore, limestone, tungsten ore, tin sand ore, silica sand and other minerals.
