UGANDA 150TPH KAOLIN WET BENEFICIATION PLANT

Fangcheng designed and manufactured a complete 150TPH kaolin wet beneficiation plant for a client in Uganda.
This project aims to produce high-purity kaolin for ceramics and industrial filler applications. The plant integrates advanced washing, screening, classification, and dewatering systems tailored to local clay-rich mineralogy.
The solution ensures optimal removal of sand, silt, and iron impurities to enhance kaolin whiteness and particle uniformity.

Solutions & Process
SOLUTIONS & PROCESS
Fangcheng’s solution focuses on a modular, easy-to-maintain process line suitable for wet clay-rich raw ore, using water-based beneficiation to achieve high recovery and whiteness.

1.Ore Feeding & Washing

Raw kaolin ore (<150 mm) is fed into a hopper with vibration feeder, which sends material into a trommel scrubber for efficient disaggregation and removal of surface clay, roots, and organic impurities.

2.Screening & Classification

The slurry is screened using a high-frequency vibrating screen to separate coarse sand (>2 mm) from finer clay. The undersized material is pumped to a hydrocyclone cluster for particle size classification, separating <45μm kaolin from fine silica or contaminants.

3.Magnetic Separation

To remove iron-stained impurities and improve whiteness, the fine kaolin slurry passes through a high-gradient magnetic separator, efficiently removing magnetic minerals and oxidized iron.

4.Dewatering System

The purified kaolin slurry enters a high-efficiency thickener, then is processed in a vacuum disc filter to achieve 20–25% moisture content. Final drying can be completed via natural drying or rotary drying per client needs.
