KENYA 50TPH MANGANESE ORE WASHING & GRAVITY SEPARATION PLANT

Fangcheng has successfully delivered a complete 50 tons per hour manganese ore beneficiation solution to a mining site in Kenya.
The local manganese deposit is primarily composed of oxide ores, with weathered surface material containing a high clay content.
The goal of the project is to upgrade manganese grade via a cost-effective washing and gravity separation line, while maximizing recovery and minimizing environmental impact.

Solutions & Process
SOLUTIONS & PROCESS
Fangcheng’s technical team provided full-scope engineering support—from ore testing and process flow design to on-site assembly and operation training. Based on the ore type and local processing conditions, a wet washing and gravity separation system was selected to ensure efficient recovery.

1.Feeding & Washing

Raw ore (<300mm) is fed into a hopper + grizzly feeder, which separates large boulders (>100mm) and feeds the rest into a jaw crusher. The crusher effectively breaks down sticky clay and liberates manganese particles. Oversized rocks are separated as waste through the discharge chute.

2.Screening & Classification

The washed material is passed through a vibrating screen, which classifies ore into two sizes:
0–2mm: Finer material ideal for centrifugal or sluice recovery.
2–20mm: Coarse concentrate processed via jigger.
Oversized particles (>20mm) are discarded or recycled based on test results.

3.Gravity Separation

Two sets of equipment are used:
Spiral chute and/or centrifugal concentrator to process fine fractions (0–2mm)
Saw-tooth wave jigger to recover heavy minerals from the 2–20mm size range
These systems rely on density differences to separate high-Mn ores from gangue minerals without chemicals.

4.Concentrate Dewatering

Recovered concentrates are transferred to a dewatering screen and then stockpiled. Final products meet the buyer's requirement of 40–48% Mn content, ready for transport to smelting facilities or export.
