Known as the “World Capital of Tungsten,” southern Jiangxi boasts one of the richest tungsten ore reserves globally. As tungsten mining remains a cornerstone of the region’s economy, improving ore beneficiation efficiency is a key priority.
Recently, the High-Efficiency Mineral & Metallurgical Equipment and Intelligence Team at Jiangxi University of Science and Technology has successfully developed the province's first digital intelligent shaking table, marking a significant milestone in the modernization of mineral processing technologies.
This new shaking table integrates an intelligent control system that significantly reduces manual intervention and optimizes energy consumption—key limitations in traditional gravity separation equipment.
Background:
Conventional shaking tables consist of eight major components, including the drive head, feed trough, deck surface, water distributor, slope control, lubrication system, riffles, and motor. Operation still relies heavily on human expertise. Operators must visually monitor ore bands, manually adjust the table slope, and reposition concentrate collectors—making the process labor-intensive and prone to inconsistencies.
Innovation Highlights:
The newly developed digital intelligent shaking table uses machine vision and adaptive control models to achieve full automation of the separation process. An HD camera installed above the concentrate end captures real-time images of ore banding.
Using advanced image recognition, the system identifies band boundaries, angles, and widths, feeding data into an intelligent algorithm that adjusts table slope and concentrate positioning in real time for optimal separation.
Technical Details:
Mechanical Design of the Intelligent Shaking Table:
Deck size: 1825 × 4520 mm
Drive system: Eccentric link mechanism
Support system: Toggle or slide rail structure
